Apple Steel-Cut Oatmeal
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
- 1 cup The Grain Market Steel Cut Oats
- 3 medium-to-large apples, cored and sliced into 1-to-2″ chunks
- 4 cups water
- Pinch of salt
- Maple syrup or honey, to taste
- Any additional toppings
- Soak The Grain Market Steel Cut Oats over night. Rinse well.
- In medium sauce pan melt butter. Add The Grain Market Steel Cut Oats and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add apple chunks, salt and water. Stir to combine. Turn heat to high and bring to boil. Stir constantly. Once boiling lower heat and continue to simmer for 20 minutes. When liquid is absorbed oats should be nice and creamy.
- Add maple syrup, and additional toppings. Serve warm.
