- 2 1/2 cups warm water
- 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons salt
- 5 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 tablespoons ground Flax Seed from The Grain Market
- 1 1/2 cups ground Rolled Oats from The Grain Market
- 1 1/2 cups The Grain Market Rolled Oats, cooked
- 3 - 4 cups of flour
- In a large bowl combine yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let rest for 5 minutes.
- Prepare cooked oats by placing oats and a sprinkle of salt in a microwave safe dish. Add enough water to completely cover oats. Cook for one minute thirty seconds. Set Aside.
- Into yeast mixture add salt, oil, flax, and oat flour.
- Mix well.
- Add cooked oats and a 1/2 cup of flour at a time. Mix well after each cup. You can adjust the amount of flour needed. A sticky dough should begin to form.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of flour onto a flat surface. Knead bread until a nice smooth slightly sticky dough is formed.
- Prepare 2 bread pans by lightly spritzing with canola oil.
- Divide dough in half and form into loaves.
- Preheat oven to 150 degrees. Place bread in the oven and turn off the heat. Set the timer for 25 minutes. This is a quick rise method. After the timer goes off, turn the oven back on to 350 degrees. Leave the bread in the oven and set the time for 24 - 26 minutes. The bread should be a nice golden brown when it is finished.
