Here at The Grain Market we love to have a rich reserve of grains. We use them daily and try to rotate our storage often. Here are a few helpful tips to help maximize the life of your grains. First rule of storing almost anything is to know the enemies you are watching out for. With grains your enemies are heat, moisture, and air. When storing grains we are looking for dry, cool locations, maybe a storage room of sorts. The next step is to make sure your grains are sealed airtight. When you purchase your grains they are already sealed. When you break the seal for use, you can store the remaining grains in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid, in its original packaging as long it can be resealed, or in a plastic container for later use. With these simple ideas your grains will stay fresh and last until you use them up and need to restock your supply!!
