Years ago while visiting NYC I had the most delicious cup of steel cut oats in the basement of Grand Central Station. Cooked to perfect creaminess, topped with a drizzle of honey and diced almonds. That little cup has stuck with me for years! Their perfect texture and long lasting satiety make them the perfect way to start any day. Steel cut oats are a champion as far as nutrition. They are minimally processed and contain more fiber and density than rolled oats. They are also ranked low on the glycemic index, which means your blood sugar level is not spiked after you eat them. Steel cut oats can be soaked over night for a quick jump on cooking time. Here at The Grain Market we soak our steel cut oats over night and then add them to the instant pot with water for about 8 minutes. After a 4-5 minute natural release we scoop a nice helping and top it with fresh berries and almond milk. Honestly divine!
