Life Without Gluten - Gluten Free Class

Cherie is back by popular demand.  She returns with her magical approach to gluten-free eating. 

Cherie Oxender has been living a pain-free, ache-free, and bloat-free, happy life for three years now since she changed her diet.  Cherie’s mother suffered from fibromyalgia and health issues associated with gluten.  As a preventative, Cherie took measures to avoid the symptoms her mother was experiencing.  The result was amazing.  Cherie realized there are many fabulous options for a gluten-free diet.  Benefit from Cherie’s extensive research and experiments that have proven to be very tasty!

It might seem strange for The Grain Market to have a class addressing gluten-free cooking – remember; I am the one that actually adds gluten to my bread.  I have come to better understand the issues associated with gluten.  For this reason, we are going to continue to focus on the needs of our gluten-free friends.  We will even have a fabulous line of gluten-free products as well as a cookbook from two amazing women that have dedicated their lives to helping others that suffer from gluten issues.

Drying Magic - Learn the Art of Dehydrating

Come and learn the simplicity of preserving food by drying – one of the oldest methods of food preservation.  Consider drying some of your bounty instead of canning or freezing it all.  It is simple and requires very little space to store.  We will learn how to make different types of fruit leathers and banana chips without sugar or preservatives for pennies on the dollar! We will even learn how to make your own jerky.  We will also make crackers, zucchini chips for dipping, and kale chips that will save you from eating a bag of potato chips!  Make your own dried veggie flakes for a quick veggie soup, your own veggie dip or enhance any dish with fabulous veggies from your garden!  Drying food is unbelievably economical and nutritious – a tough combination to pass up!

Bread Making with an Artisan Twist

Cupcakes & Muffins - Healthy "Grab and Go" Goodies

Who said cupcakes aren't healthy? 

I love cupcakes - they are back and it is no wonder...they are wonderful, not too big, easy, and just plain tasty.  I consider them a "grab-and-go food" which we are all about at The Grain Market.  We live in a very fast-paced, over stimulated world and to meet the needs of people on the go, we have created this new class on cupcakes. Don't be surprised if I throw some pinto beans or black beans in the cupcakes.
